Why me? Why do I have to deal with this? Why do
you think I can handle this God?
I know we aren’t to question God, but let’s be
honest we have asked God these questions are more at one time or another during
our walk with him. The situation or the trial we are facing seems like it’s so
big. We’re doing EVERYTHING God is asking us to do yet we still find ourselves
in situations we think we can’t handle why? What happened to not putting more
on us that we can bear? What happened to the reward in our obedience? Where is
that? Let me answer a few of those questions.
First of all God doesn't lie, he
can’t lie, he can’t be tempted with evil, so EVERYTHING he said in his word is
true. Every promise he made to his people is true and will come true. God won’t
put more on us than we can bear. - - 1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no
temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who
will not suffer you to be tempted about that ye are able; but will with the
temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it”- - The
problem is we don’t understand the power that we have within us to overcome the
situations we face. We don’t exercise our faith and trust in God when problems
arise as much as we do in day to day life.
Today after a long week of work, let alone a long
day time I got in my car I began to cry. I allowed myself to get so frustrated
with my environment at work, and even though God just revealed to me my purpose
for being there today I felt as though I wanted to give up. I was driving and
just crying because I didn’t even have to words to say to God, he kept saying
it’s not about you. After a while a peace came over me and I began singing and
praise God. Now I say this all the time, there is nothing wrong with crying,
crying doesn’t mean you’re weak. I know for me my tears are everything I can’t
say or don’t know how to say, but I’m grateful I serve and omniscient God. He
already knows what’s wrong and what I want to say. So after I put aside my
flesh, I just asked God to encourage me and strengthen me where I’ve become
weak. I know that the things I’m facing aren't just for me, I know ultimately this is all for God’s kingdom and I have
to tell myself that every day.
I don’t have a casual commitment with Christ. I
have a full time every day all day commitment with Christ. Therefore I have to
live for him, I have to obey him, I have to go “ALL IN” for Christ. I can’t
repay him with gold and silver for what he did for me back on Calvary. I don’t
have land or cattle to repay him with. All I have is my life. He gave his life
for me, so I give mine right back to him, in every way. I have to represent him
properly. I can’t be screaming Jesus is amazing, but secretly depressed because
I don’t trust him. I can’t be screaming Jesus is faithfully, but dating random’s
because I don’t believe he will fulfill my hearts desires and send my husband.
I can’t be screaming Jesus is my everything when I put other people, things,TV ,
work, school before him. I can’t be screaming Jesus is Jehovah Jireh and
playing the lotto every week. I can’t scream Jesus is always with me, If I’m
always complaining that he’s not in my presence. That is a misrepresentation of
Christ. Same thing when we are walking the path God called us to walk, we can’t
let opposition cause us to stop or give up what he has called us to do. IT’S
NOT ABOUT US! We have to move when God tells us to. Our obedience shows are
commitment to Christ! We have to be all or nothing when it comes to this.
At
bible study we studied Acts 5:1-33. Peter and the Apostles were jailed because
they were doing what God told them to do. God sent an angel to get them out of
jail and told them to go back to the very place they were arrested for
preaching. They were obedient and trusted
God. They went. All the people heard about them and men were added unto
God. Imagine if we went the places God called us to go. Imagine if we did the
works God called us to do. Imagine if we put aside our flesh and our idol gods
and put God first. Imagine the souls he’d have. Imagine the lives that would be
saved. How amazing would that be? I’m so glad Peter didn’t make it all about
him and gave up when he was jailed. I’m so glad he didn’t give up when they
were threatened with death. What we have to remember is that God isn’t going to
send us somewhere HE wants us to go and not provide us with what we need. God isn’t going to send us to the store with
$30 expecting us to buy an item worth $50. When God sends us somewhere he
is going to send his power, all we have to do is trust him and obey him. We
have all the power we need when we obey God, so don’t let the little old devil
try to make you feel less than or powerless. If you are saved, a child of God,
you have the power of the Holy Ghost. Jesus sent the Holy Spirit down, so if
you believe you have that!
When you find yourself “making it about you”
remind yourself that God will NEVER put more on you than you can bear, you have
the power you just have to stop making it about you, trust, believe and obey
Christ.
Stay encouraged
