Dear Me

#Dear Me

Dear me, how are you feeling today? I know you’re probably feeling depressed and feeling like no one understands or hears you. They may not understand you, but with that pen and paper in your hand you won’t even care after a while. Please know that your writings will help to heal and encourage, not only you, but they will help others. They will help people from places as far as Africa, and England. You will have a blog and meet many people via the internet.

Although you don’t feel loved, God loves you immensely. He loves you more than you could ever comprehend!

Don’t be so hard on mom and dad. You may not feel like they love you, but trust me they do. Parenting isn’t easy, trust me I know. Oh, but don’t worry because your relationship with both mom and dad will be healed. You’re more like them than you’d probably like to admit at this moment. One day you will look back and laugh and cry and thank God for how far you have grown in your relationship which turns into a friendship with them both.

Maintain your relationship and friendship with DaShawn, he needs you just as much as you need him. His annoying little brother ways will never go away, but you’ll learn to laugh before yelling at him. Alecia will always be a major support system to you. She will still be far away, but the closeness you all share will never fade away.

I know you’re going through some tough times with being bullied because of your eczema, acne, being called “white girl in a black girl’s body”. You’re even being called the N-word by the white kids in the neighborhood. (By the way, I’m still proud of you for fighting back. Violence is never the answer, but you did what you had to do and you held your own. You go girl!) Unfortunately, that is not where the tough times end. You will face situations you can’t even image, Bad things will happen, you will want to give up. But God! God will get you through those tough times. He will heal you, restore you and give you a testimony. The things you experience will help you help other girls just like you. Please know that you are in God’s hands.

Last few things I want you to know. (Clearly I’m long winded) Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and savior is the best decision we’ve ever made. Staying awake during dad’s sermon’s pays off, you will get to know God for yourself and it’s amazing. People still won’t “get you”, but once you focus on what God knows about you, and not about what people think of you. You’ll be fine. God will place some amazing people in your path and in your life to affirm, they are amazing. Waiting on God is key!

You’re a Queen. It may take a moment to fully believe that, but once you do. People will be able to see your crown from miles away. Your crown will stand on your head tall, and shine bright, even on the darkest of days.

If you love someone tell them

I love you

Destaynee.

-There’s a tag called the “#DearMe” tag. This tag is basically people recording/writing a message that they would say to their younger self. I thought this was an awesome idea, so this is my version of the tag.-

    1. Glory to God. I believe strongly in transparency. We can't help people sugar coating things just to keep a image.
