The past few
weeks I have been getting the revelation that the season I was once in is now
coming to an end, and I’m moving into a new season. With that information I’ve
been trying to figure out what’s next. What do I need to do next? So I’ve been
trying to do what I think I should do. Then I realized whoa whoa whoa, what am
I doing? I realized I need to wait; I need to be still before The Lord and let
him lead me to the place/places I need to go into. For me, being in the will of
God is the most important thing. I’ve abandoned my will and I don’t want to go
back to it, I only want what God has predestined for me and my life.
So it made
me think of one of my favorite bible verses Isaiah 40:31 – “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew
[their] strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and
not be weary; [and] they shall walk, and not faint”.
When I was at one of
the lowest points in my life, not knowing what to do, this was the verse I
sought after day after day. This was my go to verse because I needed to learn how
to wait upon The Lord, wait for him to show up in my life and wait for him to
tell me what direction to go.
Let’s look
at the definition of wait.
Wait: “To
remain or rest in expectation” “To remain or be in readiness”.
Waiting isn’t
a bad thing. When you tell people your waiting they like to through scripture
at you “faith without works is dead”. Yes that is word. That is in the bible,
BUT if you don’t know what works to put your faith in, will you really have the
necessary faith? If you’re just “doing works” without waiting on The Lord to
tell you which way to move, you may be stepping outside the will of God, are
you willing to risk that?
Psalms 27:14
– “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage,
and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
Waiting isn’t
always easy. We live in a world where everything comes to us at the drop of a
dime. We get answers right away, we get information right away we can access
almost everything right away. So waiting to hear from The Lord isn’t always
easy, especially when life is going at such a fast pace. This is why we have to
have a strong healthy relationship with Christ. I don’t want to be one of those
people that have to have God knock them upside their head in order to know God
is speaking to me. I want to be with one accord with Christ, that I can hear
his every whisper.
The only way we can do that, is to get well acquainted
with Christ, his personalities, his power and his plan for us. We have to know
that God has already equipped us to do the things he has predestined for us. We
have to be careful and not take on our own things that we think God wants for
us. That means staying in your own lane, and sticking to what God has for you.
Keeping your eyes on your own abilities and own portions. Knowing and trusting
what God has created in you and trusting in that. Often time’s people start
comparing their gifts and abilities to other peoples. We aren’t to do that. It
is a GIFT, from God. (Be thankful he thought of you to gift in the area you are
gifted in.)
Once we
understand this, it is extremely important that we wait on God before we move,
so we won’t be moving in someone else’s portion.
This applies
also to dating.
Women do NOT
pursue men, men pursue us, and EVERY man that pursues you is not worthy of
getting into a relationship with. Wait until you hear from The Lord. (yes, you
can ask God if you should get into a relationship with so and so. He created so
and so, he would know if you all would be a match. Nothing it too small to take
to God, nothing is too small to Wait on God for.) Also wait and make sure you
know your worth before getting into a relationship. Wait until you have a healthy
relationship with Christ before you get into a relationship with one of his
children. Wait!
Nothing is
wrong with waiting. Waiting doesn’t mean you’re doing nothing, it means your
resting with expectation. Let’s rest in The Lord, with expectation that he is
going to show up and speak to us and lead us in the right direction.
Psalms 37:7 –
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for
him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the
man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.”
Be
encouraged and be patient.
If you love
someone tell them
I love you

You mentioned dating. I know of many times a woman has waited on the Lord, supposedly, and gotten into a relationship with a saved man, only to have it fail. It is for reasons like this that I often question what people are hearing when they claim to hear from the Lord. Because the test of a prophet is that when he says a thing shall come to pass, that thing does come to pass without question or controversy. So in this case it is God acting as prophet, if we claim to have heard from him, and if we claim he has prophesied you are to date a certain person or marry a certain person and that relationship or marriage does not work out, that would stipulate God as a false prophet. Since we know that God is not a man that he should lie, neither is he capable of being wrong, you can see why I question what people are listening to when they claim to hear from God.
ReplyDeleteYes I was one of those people. I was told by someone else that they were the one and because of that and ignoring what God was really saying it failed, it had to fail, because it wasn't God and it wasn't God's best for me. That's why it's important we have a healthy relationship with God, so that we can know when HE is speaking to us and not when we are being lead by our flesh, or our emotions or what we think. The bible says the sheep know his voice.. but do we really? That's why we have to ask for discernment and be in prayer about these things. I feel that my failed relationship was an example and an opportunity to sharpen my discernment. We can't want something or someone more than we want to know and hear from God.
