So I can't be pure?

Today I was talking with someone and I said “I want a purity ring”.
(I’ve been seeing a lot of my brothers in Christ with purity rings and I am inspired) The person said “why? You already have a baby, you aren’t pure.” Now this isn’t the first time I’ve heard this. I’ve heard many things. “You can’t talk to people about abstinence, when you have a baby etc”. So because I have a baby I can’t live a pure life? So you’re saying God isn’t powerful enough for me to be born again? That’s basically saying once a sinner always a sinner.

taking my mini to school

This mindset and these negative thoughts are keeping people bound to a life of sin. This mindset has people thinking that God doesn’t forgive all sins. This mindset is awful to have, what’s even more awful is people spreading this mindset to other people Christians or non-Christians.

Now When I was first hit with this “might as well keep doing it since you have a baby” I was discouraged. I wanted a life of purity but “friends” were basically telling me it was too late. Let me tell you, that is a lie straight from the pits of hell. It is NEVER too late to re-dedicate your life to Christ. It is NEVER too late to be a born again virgin. It is NEVER too late to live a life of celibacy. It is NEVER too late to make up in your mind that you want to live a pure life!!
In 2 Corinthians 5:17 the bible says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new”

Isn’t that amazing?? Because I am a child of God, because I believe Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, he has made all things new. He has washed away each and every one of my sins. That is amazing! See the devil doesn’t want us to know that, he doesn’t want us to remember that our sins are forgiven. The devil wants us to stay stuck in our sin; he wants us to believe once a sinner always a sinner. That is NOT true.

I am a born again Christian. I rededicated my life to The Lord and I do have a son.  Me having a son is not a sin. Premarital sex WAS (past tense) the sin; my child is a blessing from The Lord, only he can give life. (Plenty of people have sex and don’t have a baby, yet you have still sinned. God opens wombs and places children there, a blessing.) I am celibate; I refrain from any sexual activity. Since I rededicated my life to Christ, I want to live a life that is holy and acceptable to him. Just because I’ve had sex before doesn’t mean I have to keep having sex. My body is a temple 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body, but he that committeh fornication sinneth against his own body. What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s”

Why would I continue to sin against myself? My temple in which the Holy Spirit dwells? I would not when I’m living to please God and live by his word.
I want to encourage someone out there; you are NOT your past mistakes. You are NOT your past sins. You do NOT have to continue in a life of sin because you have once sinned. All you need is true repentance. To have true repentance is to turn away from your sins. It is not too late to turn away from your sins. Know that God loves you too much for you to be trapped in a mindset that says “once a sinner always a sinner”. That is why it’s SO important we have a healthy relationship with Christ.(Check out my blog about Healthy Relationships) It’s important we REALLY know how much he truly loves us. We were bought with a price, a price that NO man would pay, none! Know that Jesus died, so that we would be forgiven from our sins. God wants to forgive us, but we have to WANT to be forgiven. We have to confess to him our sins; we have to turn away from our sins.

Understand it doesn’t matter what your past looks like, it doesn’t matter who brings it up.(It’s important that we guard our hearts and our ears from people that are constantly bringing up our past to throw it in our face. God has forgiven us, and we must forgive ourselves.) We must know that God has made ALL things new, including us. Don’t let what society thinks about you; cause you to forget what God knows about you, what God created you to be. See society may see me as a single mother, some saints might see me as a former fornicator, but God sees me as his child, his precious child that he loves so much. A child he died for adopted into his family. He made me joint heirs with Christ. Human’s opinions of me are obsolete. What Christ says about us in his word are the things we should believe in and look to. We have to tell ourselves the amazing things Christ says about us.

Be encouraged!

God loves you and so do I

Signed,

Born again in Christ
